The Cheerleader vs. The Critic
The ideal guest is a “cheerleader”—someone who makes you feel happy, comfortable, and confident. They are there for moral support, not to manage the technicalities of the shoot.
If you feel the need to “perform” or “impress” your guest, they are likely not the right choice. The goal of this studio is for you to exist without expectations. Your guest should be a supportive background to that experience, not a source of pressure.
Professional Boundaries
To maintain the structural integrity of the session, we have a few firm guidelines:
- Over 18 Only: No minors are allowed in the studio during an intimate session.
- One Guest Maximum: Space in the Detroit studio is limited. A single, focused guest is far more effective than a crowd.
- Support, Not Direction: Your guest is there for your peace of mind. They are not the stylist, the pose coach, or the secondary photographer.
Managing the Technical Environment
Photo shoots can be long, technical processes. We encourage guests to bring a book or other quiet entertainment. If a guest becomes a distraction—either to you or to the technical flow of the session—they may be asked to wait in the comfortable lounge area.
